Morning Qi Preservation: Understanding “Qi Disruption“

In the context of Qi, “disruption” typically refers to the depletion or damage of the body’s vital energy, positive energy, or overall energy. The morning is a crucial time when the body’s Yang energy begins to rise and the circulation of blood and Qi becomes active. Engaging in activities that hinder the flow of blood and Qi or disrupt energy conservation during this time, such as spending extended periods on social media, consuming cold foods and drinks, washing hair and taking a shower in the morning and going out with wet hair, talking while eating, starting the day in a bad mood, or engaging in intense exercise on an empty stomach, are all considered behaviors that disrupt Qi.

These behaviors can disrupt the body’s natural rhythm, hinder the rise of Yang energy, and affect the balance of Qi, leaving the body feeling lethargic and potentially leading to health issues.

Meditation is beneficial for relaxing the body and reducing mental and physical stress. When we are in a state of tension or anxiety, the body consumes a significant amount of energy. By meditating and achieving a calm state, unnecessary energy expenditure can be minimized, which helps to “preserve” and “replenish” Qi to some extent.

During meditation, individuals typically focus on their breathing. A steady and deep breathing pattern helps regulate the flow of blood and Qi, promoting oxygen supply and energy production. Additionally, meditation enhances focus and awareness, allowing individuals to better sense their physical state and emotional changes. This enables them to adjust their lifestyle and mindset in a timely manner to avoid behaviors and emotions that disrupt Qi, thereby indirectly achieving the effect of replenishing Qi.

However, the benefits of meditation in replenishing Qi are not immediate; it is more of a supportive practice. It requires long-term commitment and should be combined with a healthy lifestyle to be most effective. Therefore, it is important to maintain a regular meditation practice and engage in group meditation sessions. Let’s practice together!
