The second type of spiritual pet is the Zhuque(rooster)
The Zhuque, or rooster, has long been considered a natural counter to malevolent forces. An old Chinese saying goes, “A thousand years in the soil is no match for a good rooster,” emphasizing its inherent ability to combat the dark. Roosters are full of yang energy and are incredibly brave. In particular, those that have lived for five or six years can deter even the slightest hint of negative energy. Even damp, creepy-crawly creatures with a touch of yin will avoid their presence. This isn’t due to any mystical power; it’s simply a matter of natural opposition, much like how ice melts when heat is applied.
While it’s true that humans possess strong yang energy, we tend to lose it when we encounter ghosts or ghouls due to fear. Roosters, however, are purely yang and lack yin. They have a natural appetite for creatures that carry heavy yin energy, such as centipedes, earthworms, and other subterranean bugs. Moreover, roosters aren’t spooked by the tricks of ghosts, like sticking out their tongues or rolling their eyes. They simply see these entities as something with strong yin energy, similar to the bugs they usually eat, and feel compelled to peck at them for a taste.
Even in the unlikely event that a particularly malevolent ghost shows up, one so powerful it could potentially overwhelm a rooster, you’ll notice strange behaviors in the rooster. It might become listless, start losing feathers, or become restless. These signs give you ample time to be alerted and make a hasty retreat.
When it comes to raising a rooster, it’s best to start from when it’s just a chick, preferably a colorful one. A rooster bought from outside might have some yang energy and can ward off evil, but it won’t protect you or show any intelligence, making it less effective.
You should feed your rooster plenty of venomous insects and red peppers. If possible, give it a bit of alcohol too. Alcohol, being the essence of grains, is quite nourishing for animals. Keep the rooster on a balcony or in the yard where it can bask in the sunlight. Avoid letting it mate; keep it pent up. Talk to it often, but refrain from touching it too much. And if it pecks at you, give it a good whack! Roosters remember being disciplined, not being fed. If you show it who’s boss, it will submit and acknowledge you as its leader. The more fierce the rooster, the stronger its yang energy, and the more potent its ability to ward off evil.
If you find yourself haunted by malicious spirits or need to stay in a place that’s not quite clean, having a mighty rooster by your side can offer some protection. Give it a try, and you’ll see that these birds are quite valiant.
Lastly, there’s a downside to consider: roosters only suppress spirits of the yin variety. They can’t deal with demons, bring in wealth, stabilize a home, gather fortune, or block sha energy. Though if sha energy does come, the rooster can give a warning. But whether you understand the signs is up to fate. They are essentially combat pets, existing solely to fight ghosts.
Feng Shui Pets:The selection of Zhuque
The top tier is the Golden Rooster, actually a multicolored rooster with a red comb, green ears, a golden back, and a blue tail. If it also has phoenix eyes, with eyelids that close from top to bottom, it’s truly exceptional. Even without phoenix eyes, it’s the strongest of spiritual objects.
The second tier is the Red Rooster, also known as the All-Red Rooster. It’s the kind that looks like a block of fire as it walks.
The third tier is the White Rooster. There are many of these. They’re visually appealing but not as effective as the first two types.
